Hi,my name is Ebony and I am an interdisciplinary artist (actually I am still an art student, (which I will stay forever)) working with videogames and installations. I grew up in the 90s and early 2000s between squaredance (quite literally), leather pants and nigerian okra soup. These spaces are also where my simple understanding of the world around me stems from: an oddly, in itself very specific and precise and yet random accumulation of objects, interactions and systems. How do my videogames and installations look like? I think just like that. They are accumulations and collections of seemingly random objects and stories, once lost, now adopted and intertwined/interconnected into installation spaces or 3D videogame worlds. I love these moments when I find meaning in unexpected connections, when lost thoughts are placed in relation to one another, within a context and now, suddenly find meaning (most meaningful to me are emotional moments). Being humorously surprised by things unfolding in front of me and seeing meaning inside of the meaningless, became a way to navigate politically charged times and overwhelming spaces for me, and I hope to share this with whoever wants to indulge.
